This advertisement is actually the first expandable banner ad that I have seen. Im not sure to Megan Gale is but this is the woman they used as the new face for LOreal. The fact that only a banner portion of the ad is releaved on the website, it really makes you want to click to expand it and see the full image. Comedians dont start their jokes off with the punch line, they lead up to it and make the audience wait for it to be revealed. This tactic is much like the way many advertisers approach their creative.
Once I clicked on the ad however, I found it difficult to find the minimize button. It is very faded and small which made it pretty frustrating to find. That would have to be the only negative imput I have about this advertisement. Overal I thought the colours were very professional looking and worked well with the target market.
Well done!!!

T90 Laser IV
The following advertisement is for the Nike T90 Laver IV soccer cleats. The ad is first shown as a standard big box ad that only begins to play the video advertisement once you roll over the box. It immediately stops playing and returns to the standard big box ad once you roll off of the video. The sound of the advertisement doesn't start to play until you click the "turn sound on" button located at the bottom right side of the ad.
I think this is a very effective and well done advertisement because it is very engaging and allows the user to be in complete control. This is not a distracting or annoying ad at all but still does a great job of grabbing the users attention and makes them want to click on it. Being the soccer fan that I am, I think this commercial was very well done and I will likely watch it a few more times!
Take a look for yourself and let me know what you think!

How much time do you waste?
I came accross a website today that I think could have been done a lot better. It's called "I waste so much time". There are a ton a blog wesites out there where people share and discuss things they think are funny or interesting. Many of them are very engaging and done very well and has an entertaining outcome as well as a professional appearance. This one however, looks like it was put together very quickly and without much effort. They used a white background and very plain text throughout the pages. The title of the website isnt very creative or engaging and probably wont do the job of keeping viewer there.
Other gossip sites such as dlisted, stumbleupon, tumblre etc. have very catchy subheads and titles and have very planned out designs. Im sure this website has very interesting videos and pictures that i would enjoy looking at and commenting on, but theres nothing making me want to continue searching. I also believe the younger audience wants to pass their time with something that is catching to the eye and looks interesting and if it isnt then they will have no problem closing the page.
Let me know if you think they could have done a better job of creating and displaying this content. If so, what are some things they could do to improve it?

Phosphorus Media
Today I came accross a really neat website that delivers different ways to create interactive advertisments. This website shows a whole bunch of different interactive wall and floor advertisments, and shows how they work and are used by a person.
This website proves how the creativity and ideas are endless when it comes to how companies can interact with consumers. It is very interesting to see what people are now capable of compared to traditional advertisements. Companies are becoming more aware that consumers understand what they are able to do, and in order to keep them interested and engaged then they have to create ads accordingly.
It makes you wonder what kinds of ads our children will be seeing, although they are no longer something you just see, but something you can get involved with and understand the brand more in debt.
I think everyone following my blog should take a few minutes of your time to check out this website. You will be amazed at some of the different ads.

Salty's Missing!!!!
Knorr's Sidekicks have developed a great way to advertise their strategy of 25% less sodium. They have put together a very effective campaign that is capturing to consumers. They have protrayed "less salt" as being a good thing but at the same time made it almost depressing. The little cartoon salt looks so sad in every commercial and for some reason everyone that watches it feels for him even though it doesnt have feelings itself. My favourite commercial they ran is the one where salty is missing and pepper is putting up the signs on the poles and walls. The story line they developed in these commercials is so creative and they knew that this would connect with the consumer. They did a great job of creating something that the consumer will become engaged in and relate to each time they purchase. This will be a commercial that i remember for ever and when i go to purchase a sidekick meal i will instantly think of it.

For all you creative folks out there!
I came accross a really cool website while I was stumbling (again) today and I had to write a blog about it and share it with others. I know in the advertising program there are a lot or creative, artistic and talented students. This website is completely focused on members portfolios. This website consists of 350,000+ portfolios of all different kinds. Some of the porfolios I looked at consisted of photography, illustrations, graphic design, animations paintings and many others. This is a great way to show off your talent and look at other amazing portfolios. It also gives your work a clean and professional look and feel that may help in the future.
This website is very easy to navigate and follow. It provides you with useful tips if your interested in signing up and uploading your very own portfolio. Even if you're not interested in making or uploading your personal porfolio, you should still check out the site and look at some of the work on it. Some porfolios are very inspiring and captive. CHECK IT OUT!!!

Skittles commercials
Every time I see the Skittle commercials during my television shows I question the approach and idea. I have never found them entertaining or funny and still to this day, dont really understand the point of them. One of the latest ones has a guy beginning to age because his roomate is eating the skittles from the hour glass. I really dont understand what that has to do with Skittles and what their image is.
Can someone maybe describe or explain what you think their creative approach is trying to say and deliver. Give me your thoughts and opinions on these commercials, and if you think they are effective or not.
